APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – American Quality Homes gave away their second roof this year as part of their “Operation Homefront” project, a mission to provide a roof to a veteran, their family or first responders in need.

This installation was a little different from the one completed in June. It was done in collaboration with the Greenville Lions Club, which runs its own project called Christmas for Vets. When one veteran wrote down that all they wanted was a roof, they didn’t think it would happen.

Fast forward to Tuesday morning, and Asja Graper was getting a new roof installed on her house, honoring her late husband, Bruce Graper, who served in the U.S. Army for 22 years.

The donation was a way for the community to give back to a family that had given so much to the country.
