SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - Dozens of people turned out at Siouxland Freedom Park to watch the plane’s arrival, and it certainly was a sight to see.

The A-7-D Corsair II fighter jet saw service with Sioux City’s 185th Fighter Wing from the 70s to the early 90s, lifted off for the final time from the 185th air base at the Sioux Gateway Airport shortly after noon on Tuesday. It’s been there since May for restoration.

Before that, it was on display at the old Martin Airfield in South Sioux City.

On Tuesday, it was moving to be a display at its new home.

It’s home sweet home for this aircraft, after it landed safely at Siouxland Freedom Park, Tuesday afternoon, it’s new permanent location.
