OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Nebraska Secretary of State is encouraging residents to register to vote on National Voter Registration Day, which is today.
Nebraskans who are already registered to vote can confirm their registration using the VoterCheck website .
As of Sept. 1, Nebraska has 1,257,860 voters registered.
To be an eligible voter in Nebraska, you:
Must be a citizen of the U.S.
Must be a resident of Nebraska.
Must be at least 18 or turn 18 on or before the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November this year.
Cannot have been convicted of a felony. If you have, you must have completed the sentence for the felony, including parole terms.
Cannot officially have been found to be mentally incompetent.
