How can we as Americans sit back and watch as our President orders open Venezuelan boats blasted out of the water, killing -- for now, by the administration’s count --14 human beings. Were they criminals? Maybe, perhaps even probably, but this is an immoral, illegal, inhumane way of dealing with these individuals.

We have mechanisms in place to intercept suspected drug boats, recover contraband, arrest perpetrators, and a legal system to process them. What’s next? Pulling smugglers from their vehicles at the Mexican border and shooting them? Not yet anyway.
