TAMPA — The fate of five men charged in connection with the shooting death of 4-year-old Suni Bell is in the hands of a jury.
Jurors started deliberating in the case just before 10 a.m. Tuesday and were still deliberating into the afternoon. Before 6 p.m., it was announced that deliberations would continue into Wednesday, starting at 8 a.m.
The suspects are charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy in the 2012 death of Bell. She was sleeping in the backseat of her family's car when dozens of shots were fired from other vehicles, according to prosecutors. The child's mother was in the passenger seat and her uncle was behind the wheel, but they survived.
