A student at the Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts was arrested Tuesday after making threats of mass violence against other students.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the school resource deputy was alerted to the threats on September 16. During the investigation, school administrators discovered the student had also shown classmates a journal containing a hit list.

The student was charged with Threats of Mass Violence and taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
