What happened to Charlie Kirk was horrible, but we should be honest about what he said and for what he stood. Kirk himself saw nothing wrong with strongly criticizing an assassinated political leader with whom he disagreed - the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Look at it this way: Both Kirk and King wrote and published books and left behind a significant public record. Surely, neither expected that the discussion and evaluation of their ideas would end with their lives.
