PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A sprawling park north of Grand Rapids reopened Tuesday after a big renovation project.
The work at Grand Rogue Park on West River Drive near Northland Drive in Plainfield Township included the addition of a playground, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant pathways, a fishing dock, a pavilion near the lake and canoe launches.
“We are excited to welcome families back into Grand Rogue Park for a whole new experience,” Plainfield Charter Township Supervisor Tom Coleman said in a statement. “Seeing the joy on people’s faces as they climb the new playground, fish from the dock and glide down the river on their kayaks will make all this work worthwhile.”
The renovations took nearly a year to complete — ground was broken on them in October 2024. With a
