LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — Time continues to tick away until the new start of the new fiscal year, and the Michigan Legislature still doesn't have a budget deal.
There is some hope that lawmakers can reach an agreement within the next two weeks, though there are so far no signs of that actually happening. Lawmakers disagree on what's causing the holdup, but one key sticking point may be road funding.
"Roads is a big deal," state Rep. Bradley Slagh, R-Zeeland, said. "Our governor has said from the very beginning of her election into office that roads is an important thing; we're going to fix them. So there's an effort right now to try to make sure that that happens before she's out of office. So I think that's a really big deal for her. And I think for us it's a big deal. Our constituents wh
