(NEXSTAR) – Tensions with Venezuela are rising as President Donald Trump says the US struck a third boat in the Caribbean carrying drugs from the country.

"Stop sending Tren de Aragua into the United States. Stop sending drugs into the United States," President Trump said Tuesday.

The president posted a video of the second strike Monday, saying it killed three people. Last month, the Pentagon said a strike killed 11 people.

"I actually applaud that because that's deterrence," Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) said.

Texas Republican Congressman Michael McCaul says the strikes stop the flow of drugs. He says he's convinced the evidence warrants the action.
