Jim Goodwin reckons Dundee United can go into the rest of the season with real confidence. ‌

That’s the manager’s view after his side proved they are more than a match for the likes of big-spending Hibs and Hearts. ‌

Goodwin defied the odds to lead United to fourth last season and believes they can have another successful assault, after a 3-3 draw at Hibs and narrowly losing a five -goal thriller against Hearts. ‌

He has brought in 14 players and spent just a nominal five figures but his team is still showing they can go toe-to-toe with the likes of the big Edinburgh two, who have spent significant sums strengthening their squads.

Goodwin said: “When you look at the performances we have put in against Hearts and Hibs, it has to give us a huge amount of hope and optimism
