DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio — Delaware County water officials are asking residents to cut back on watering lawns and plants, saying conservation is needed to ensure an adequate drinking water supply in the weeks ahead.
Daily demand has reached 24 million gallons, according to Del-Co Water. Roughly half of that — about 12 million gallons — is being used for lawn watering. The utility is asking homeowners to reduce usage by about six million gallons a day by limiting outdoor watering to every other day, no more than three times per week.
