EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon is heading into rivalry week with no shortage of motivation. The Ducks are heavy favorites over Oregon State, but their mindset suggests this game is about more than just extending a historic series that dates back to 1894.

“It’s a big rivalry game, everybody pop out in Oregon,” said junior linebacker Jerry Mixon on Tuesday. “They’re our little bros and we’ll go out there and kick their a**.”

Oregon players have made it clear they’re treating the Beavers like “little brother” and plan to prove it on the field. That mentality is fueled not only by the rivalry itself, but also by dissatisfaction with how the Ducks finished last weekend against Northwestern.
