Philly player wins $1 million on Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off ticket

Philadelphia, PA – One lucky player just became a millionaire after purchasing a $1 million-winning Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off ticket at a Sunoco gas station in Philadelphia, the Lottery announced Monday.

The winning ticket was sold at Sunoco, located at 440 West Cheltenham Avenue. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the top-prize-winning ticket. The ticket came from the “Jackpot” game, a $20 scratch-off that features a grand prize of $1 million.

The Pennsylvania Lottery noted that scratch-off tickets are distributed randomly, and neither retailers nor the Lottery know where winning tickets will be sold until after a prize is claimed.
