Two adults were arrested after six children ranging in age from 2 months old to 9 years old were discovered in a locked storage unit in Milwaukee, law enforcement said.

Milwaukee police said at approximately 1:36 a.m., officers responded to the StorSafe storage facility at 27th Street and Silver Spring Drive on the city's Northwest Side after receiving a report of children being locked in a unit.

Upon arrival, officers found the children — ages 2 months, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9 — inside the unit, according to police.

Two people, a 26-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, were taken into custody, reported WTMJ, the NBC affiliate in Milwaukee. All of the children were unharmed, authorities said.
