AMHERST, NY — After 50 years behind the chair, a Western New York barber is hanging up his scissors.

From the very first haircut as a teenager, to his very last this week, an Amherst barber said the job has always been about the people, not just the clippers.

At 'Your Head Hair Cuts' in Amherst, the sound of clippers is almost as familiar as Casey Wojtasczcyk's smile. He spent 34 years in Williamsville before coming to Amherst, where he's been for the last 20.

For decades, he's been cutting 15 to 20 people a day. Athletes, doctors, lawyers, even four generations of the same family, have all sat in his chair. The walls of his shop tell the story of a career filled with memories, friendships, and conversations.
