Sidney 'Omen' Brown has been found dead in his New York City apartment. He was 49. The music producer collaborated with superstar artists including Ludacris, Drake and Beyoncé. He passed away suddenly, officials revealed on Tuesday. The "cause and manner of death are pending further study", according to a statement by the city's Office of Chief Medical Examiner. Brown's mother, Martha Brown, told TMZ that his body had been found by a relative inside his East Harlem apartment on 13 September. The tragic discovery came after he missed a gig as a DJ at a Harlem wine bar, and concerned staff contacted his family. Brown's sister, Nicole Iris Brown, told NBC News: "He was holistic and healthy. So we don't know of him being sick, so this is all pretty sudden." She went on to detail her brother's love of music and his enthusiasm for working with artists breaking into the business. "I hope people will remember that he was willing to help the younger generation," she implored. "He was always big on helping younger people start their careers and get themselves into the game. "It was about just the music, no matter who the artist was."
