U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville blamed the political left for the assassination of Charlie Kirk Tuesday in an interview on The Jesse Kelly Show and said he didn’t see much to gain in trying to seek common ground with what he said was a radical movement.

Kelly asked Tuberville what he thought about Republican officials in Washington who have said both sides of the political aisle share blame for overheated rhetoric that can help fuel tragedies like the fatal shooting of Kirk, a conservative political activist who President Trump called a “martyr for truth and freedom.”

“Their stupid faces are all over the television set, essentially handing the Democrats what they’re begging for right now, trying to spread the blame around as if everybody does it,” Kelly said.
