ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
A fire on the fifth floor of an abandoned multi-story building at 300 San Mateo Ave. NE was brought under control within 20 minutes early Tuesday, an Albuquerque Fire Rescue news release said.
Smoke and flames were visible in a window on the southeast corner when AFR personnel and equipment arrived. Several people were evacuated safely, and no other civilians or firefighters were injured.
AFR investigators are working to find the cause of the fire. When more information becomes available, KOAT will update this story.
