Felony charges are expected to be filed Wednesday against a 33-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting a Wildomar resident and trying to kill another.

David Rodolfo Jimenez Osornio of Wildomar was arrested and booked into the Byrd Detention Center Saturday on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, following a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department investigation.

The case was under review Tuesday by the District Attorney’s Office.

According to sheriff’s Sgt. Alberto Loureiro, shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, Osornio was involved in an unspecified confrontation with 64-year-old Jesus Monge at a residence in the 24000 block of Orange Street.

During the encounter, Osornio allegedly pulled a handgun and shot Monge, Loureiro said.
