A young woman was rescued from the ocean in Seaside on Tuesday afternoon, city officials said.

They didn’t identify her but said she was about 20-years-old and had been “unaccounted for in the ocean.”

Someone pulled her from the water, and a bystander began CPR. Seaside police and fire personnel arrived shortly after and worked to resuscitate her, and she eventually regained a pulse.

A young man who had also been “unaccounted for in the ocean” also survived and did not need medical help. The woman was sent to a hospital about 2:17 p.m. City officials did not share more information about her condition.

They urged others to use caution around the ocean.
