ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - In a quiet St. Peters neighborhood, Chris Bank can often be found tending to his front yard, not of grass, but of sunflowers.

What started four years ago as a way to find joy during a difficult time soon became a memorial for a loved one who cherished the flowers.

“She was one of a kind and, as you can see, she had a great smile. She truly loved sunflowers, and I thought it would be fitting for her to be part of it,” Bank said.

But his sunflower garden has now turned into a long-running legal battle with the City of St. Peters.

“You know, I thought this was crazy, that I’m going to court over sunflowers,” Bank said.
