Guardians' Assistant GM has reportedly interviewed for Nationals open position

The Washington Nationals have an open general manager position after they fired GM Mike Rizzo and manager Davey Martinez in early July, shortly before the MLB draft and All-Star Game.

Cleveland Guardians assistant general manager Matt Forman has interviewed for that vacant general manager position. The Washington Post's Andrew Goldman had the original report.

The tweet does not indicate a specific time or place where the Guardians' AGM met with the Nationals' ownership group. Forman started as the director of baseball operations with Cleveland.
