FRUITA, Colo. (KREX) — The pedestrian involved in Sunday morning's incident was pronounced deceased at St. Mary's Hospital, according to the Fruita Police Department on Tuesday.

The identity of the pedestrian will be shared after the appropriate notifications to the family have been made by the Mesa County Coroner's Office.

The incident involved a car that hit the adult male at around 2:30 a.m. while it was traveling westbound at the intersection of Highway 6 and 50 and South Pine Street. After arriving on scene, first responders restored a faint pulse to the pedestrian after performing CPR and transported him to the hospital.
