Southwest Allen County Schools' $32 million career and technical education center will be designed by a local architecture firm with experience planning such spaces.

The school board agreed Tuesday to hire Garmann Miller following a request for proposals process that attracted 11 submissions – a response Chief Operating Officer Randi Libby described as outstanding.

Garmann Miller, which has an office in Fort Wayne, is also attached to multiple East Allen County Schools projects that broke ground this year.

The firm was among three shortlisted candidates SACS interviewed last week. It stood out for its dedicated local team, collaborative approach and experience with career and technical education, or CTE, Libby said.
