In what had the makings of a rarity — a non-stressful Mets victory — the Mets found stress.
Francisco Alvarez was removed in the eighth inning of Tuesday’s 8-3 win over the Padres at Citi Field after a 99.8 mph fastball struck his left arm.
There was no immediate update from the Mets concerning the severity.
