MENASHA, Wis. (WBAY) - The Menasha Police Department is alerting residents and local businesses about fraudulent invoices circulating by email that falsely appear to come from the City of Menasha’s Community Development Department.

The scam emails use unofficial addresses such as “@usa.com” and request wire transfers for large sums of money.

These invoices may look professional, include the city logo, and even reference real addresses within Menasha.

However, they are not legitimate and should not be paid.

Official City of Menasha emails will always come from a domain ending in “@menashawi.gov.”

The city will never request payment via wire transfer.
