QUINCY (WGEM) - Christmas is just 100 days away and Toys for Tots of West Central Illinois is already marking things off its Christmas list.
In anticipation of toys being more expensive this year, local Toys for Tots organizers have spent the summer shopping for toys on sale or clearance.
“We have noticed that overall toys as a whole have gotten more expensive just like with everything else, so we’ve been working really hard this summer working on finding the clearance deals, sales, purchasing as much as we can ahead of time and we’re just really hopeful that the community also can put that time in to find whatever donations it is that they can afford to support us,” said Jessica Humke, the coordinator for Toys for Tots of West Central Illinois.
