QUINCY (WGEM) - Tuesday marked the 100 Day Countdown to Christmas. Which means local business owners are preparing for the most profitable time of the year.

Although the holidays might’ve been the furthest thought from your mind in the hot weather, consumer reports are predicting that half of consumers will wrap up that shopping and those gifts before November (Source: Bankrate).

Kelsey Platt, who owns Yellow Kiss Boutique in downtown Quincy, said compared to recent years, inflation seems to be cooling in 2025.

“The prices for our clothing haven’t really increased in the last year,” Platt said.

Platt said if you compare prices before the COVID-19 pandemic, then it’s a different story.

“Six years ago, it was more reasonably priced,” Platt said.
