VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — In one Virginia Beach mobile home neighborhood, several inches of water stalled cars and stranded people on their front porches after storms blew through on Tuesday.

Around 1.5 miles from Virginia Beach Town Center, massive amounts of floodwater rushed into the mobile home community, trapping residents in their homes.

“This is the craziest I’ve seen," said resident Robert Ortago.

Ortago said he's lived off Holland Drive at County View Mobile Home Park since 2010. He said he'd never quite seen conditions in his neighborhood like Tuesday.

“I’ve not seen it get up this far before, not even Hurricane Matthew, 2016. It wasn’t this bad," said Ortago.

Virginia Beach police eventually placed high water warning signs as people found any way they could to make it home.
