SEYMOUR, Conn. — Seymour will soon decide whether to move forward with a multimillion-dollar project to replace Bungay Elementary School, which district officials say is outdated and in need of significant upgrades.
During a town hall meeting Tuesday evening, neighbors voiced questions and concerns about the proposal, which would fund the construction of a new, state-of-the-art learning facility.
The current Bungay Elementary was built in the 1950s and it last underwent upgrades in 1995.
According to the school’s building committee, 23 major renovations are now needed to bring the school up to safety regulations, including improvements to ceilings, bathrooms, a nursing room and the heating and air conditioning systems.
