TEMPLE, Texas — Temple ISD dedicated the Lamar Competition Field to a special alum on Sept. 16, former football star and NFL player Brad Dusek.

In between the A and B team games on Tuesday, Sept. 16, the district held a ceremony dedicating the field in honor and memory of Dusek, with his family in attendance.

Dusek was a four-year starter at Temple High School and a Parade All-American following his senior season in 1968, according to Dave Campbell's Texas Football. He reportedly led the Wildcats to 19 wins as quarterback in his last two seasons with the team.

Dusek was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

After high school, Dusek went on to play at Texas A&M, earning All-SWC first team honors as a safety in 1971.

Dusek also played eight seasons in the NF
