Reigning Class 3A champion Moon (6-3-0, 5-0-0) was pushed to the limit as it was made to go into double overtime before picking up a 2-1 win over Chartiers Valley (3-3-0, 3-2-0), both goals came from Eric Haupt. Head coach Tyler Blake said that a win in section over the Colts has set the No. 3 Tigers up well for the second half of the year.
“Taking that game tonight sent us two games ahead on West Allegheny, Montour and Chartiers Valley in Section 4, the only game we have left on the front half of the schedule is Blackhawk, so if we can take care of business on Thursday, we can give ourselves a little cushion heading into the back half of the season.”
