BUTLER TWP — Supervisors approved two Eagle Scout project proposals from members of Boy Scout Troops during the board’s monthly meeting on Monday, Sept. 15.

The first project to be approved is a 6-foot bench for Preston Park specifically for dogs, proposed by Bryson Stoops of the Butler Ruritan Boy Scouts Troop 6.

“I want to build something for dogs, because I enjoy being around dogs and seeing them in the park,” Stoops said.

The bench, intended to be placed along the park’s dog trail, would contain a lower section small enough for a small dog to jump onto it, and would be designed in the shape of a dog bone with the words “Me and My Best Friend” engraved on it.
