Nearly 50,000 customers lost their power on Tuesday as an unexplained power outage struck multiple suburbs across Sydney’s North Shore.
Residents living in an area ranging from Hornsby to Berowa and as far south as Carlingford and areas of Epping lost power just after 10:10am in what AusGrid described as an unplanned outage.
It is believed that around 48547 customers have been affected, blacking out traffic lights and causing speed restrictions to be imposed across the upper north shore.
State Liberal MP for Hornsby, James Wallace posted about the outage on his Instagram page.
According to Transport NSW, trains are continuing to travel to Hornsby, Thornleigh and Pennant Hills despite the ongoing power situation, with T1 North Shore, M1 Metro Northwest services and T9 Northern Line serv
