SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Misty Kleyhauer, 51, made her first court appearance following a high-speed chase through Spokane Valley that ended in a crash.

The pursuit ended when Kleyhauer crashed into a bus stop and a power pole, according to police.

Police reported that the chase began on East Sprague Avenue after Kleyhauer ran a red light.

When officers attempted to pull her over, investigators said Kleyhauer swerved into oncoming traffic, leading them on a chase.

The pursuit ended when she hit a curb, sending her vehicle into the bus stop, police said.

Investigators said Kleyhauer admitted to drinking at the time of her arrest. She now faces charges of DUI and reckless driving.
