SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – City leaders in Spokane Valley are focusing on disaster preparedness by updating their chapter in the countywide hazard mitigation plan.

This plan serves as a roadmap to reduce risks from wildfires, severe weather and other emergencies.

During a recent community conversation before the council meeting, residents learned about the highest-ranking hazards in the area.

Virginia Clough, the project manager, shared insights into the updated hazard mitigation plan.
