TUCSON, Ariz. - (KVOA-TV) The assassination of conservative activist and movement leader, Charlie Kirk, on a college campus last week has put a cornerstone of colleges and universities under the microscope.
College campuses are the places where free speech is not only supposed to be welcome but encouraged, where discourse can flow freely without fear of violence.
A University of Arizona professor said that pillar of a college campus cannot be lost. "People are going to have diverse opinions here and that's kind of the point," UA Political Science Professor Frank Gonzalez said. We're here to let people's opinions be expressed and challenge those opinions."
