NEWBURYPORT — Bird was the word for around a dozen local seniors Friday when they joined birding expert Sue McGrath for a tour of an avian hot spot near Duffy Drive.

Gathering at the Newburyport Council on Aging at 8:30 a.m., seniors received a quick briefing from McGrath before driving over to a patch wetlands.
