While at odds over how to go about a similar transformation of Gilpin Court, Richmond’s mayor and the chief executive of its public housing authority came together Tuesday to celebrate the latest milestone in the redevelopment of Creighton Court that is now several years underway.

Mayor Danny Avula joined CEO Steven Nesmith and other officials with the Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority for a ceremony marking the first move-ins at Creighton and the unveiling of the mixed-income community’s new name: Creighton Renaissance.
