Dam Day in Clinton is coming soon, which means the top of the Wachusett Dam will be open to the public once again.

On Sunday, Oct. 12, guests will have access to the walkway that spans Wachusett Dam from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., overlooking the Wachusett Reservoir.

The walkway was originally closed in the 1990s due to water supply security and safety concerns, but it has since been reopened on specific dates in recent years, according to the Department of Conservation and Recreation .

The last Wachusett Dam Day was on May 10 .

DCR Watershed Rangers will be on site to answer any questions and provide information on the dam’s role in protecting the metropolitan Boston Water supply, according to the DCR.
