A pedestrian is dead after a collision involving a motor vehicle near Moss Park early Wednesday morning, police say.

Around 12:30 a.m., police received reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a motorist on Sherbourne Street, near Shuter Street, Toronto police said in a post on X.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver remained on the scene.

Police did not provide any information about the identities of the pedestrian or the driver.

Roads in the area were temporarily closed, police said.
