Dana White appears to be prepared to reconnect with esteemed MMA journalist Ariel Helwani after years of tension.

White banned Helwani from his promotion in 2016 when he broke two huge stories in the UFC world.

Helwani was the first to report that Brock Lesnar would be making a return at UFC 200 , before confirming Conor McGregor would rematch Nate Diaz at UFC 202.

This left White fuming, and Helwani was subsequently kicked out of the promotion's next pay-per-view card, UFC 199 , while also being refused future accreditation for all of his organisation's future events.

While UFC CEO White originally stated the ban would stick for as long as he was with the company, it was rescinded two days later.

However, the incident still left a permanent strain on the pair's relations
