So Liberty coach Sandy Brondello will wait until the last available moment to decide whether All-Star forward Breanna Stewart will play Wednesday night in a potential first-round clincher against the Phoenix Mercury.
That is, if Stewart doesn’t make the decision for her.
“It’s going to be a game-day, game-time decision,” Brondello told reporters Tuesday as the Liberty prepared for Game 2 at Downtown’s Barclays Center.
“So your guess is as good as mine. We’ll see how she goes tomorrow. We’ll give her as much time as we can,” she added.
The defending WNBA champion Liberty (1-0) don’t have to guess how important Stewart, a two-time league and Finals Most Valuable Player, is to their repeat hopes.
