A 4-story building development that will replace a longtime auto repair yard with 72 new affordable units of housing next to the Shawmut MBTA station will move forward, according to developers who say a lawsuit challenging the project has been “resolved.”

The 150 Centre project at Shawmut has been the subject of controversy and legal wrangling, particularly since the development firm Trinity Financial won key approvals to build from city planners in November 2023. Neighbors, including residents and next-door abutters at the Epiphany School, strongly objected to the scale and location of the building and sued the developer and the city of Boston to halt it, citing flaws in the city’s review process.
