Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has ordered state agencies to remove barriers to COVID-19 vaccine access for any resident who wants the shot.
Whitmer signed an executive directive Wednesday, Sept. 17, instructing departments to ensure providers, pharmacists and the public have clear guidance regarding vaccine safety, effectiveness and availability.
The executive directive comes after federal regulators approved an updated shot for this fall but limited who should get it to anyone 65 and older, and people 6 months to 64 years old who have an underlying health condition.
