NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn. (WATE) — The Claiborne County Sheriff's Office has identified the drowning victim whose body was recovered from Norris Lake in New Tazewell Tuesday evening.

Wednesday morning, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office told 6 News' media partner, WRIL, that the victim was identified as James Fredrick Orlando, 78, of Morristown.

Previously, WRIL shared that rescue efforts were underway around 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the Cedar Grove Marina off Highway 33 in New Tazwell. 6 News' media partner said investigators determined that a man had fallen from a houseboat and drowned the night before, before his body was located in roughly 60 feet of water, around 50 feet away from the houseboat.
