ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Vigils honoring conservative activist Charlie Kirk have been held nationwide in different cities and across university campuses.

Hundreds, if not thousands, gathered in downtown Woodstock Tuesday to pray and remember Kirk.

It lasted about an hour, with what appeared to be more than a thousand people gathered together. The crowd sang in unison with prayers for the conservative activist killed last week while speaking at an event on a college campus in Utah.

Although Kirk spent much of his adult life in debate and in the political spotlight and had his fair share of critics of his commentary, Tuesday night was less about Kirk’s passionate discourse over the years and more about praying for his soul and for our country.
