BRYAN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Richmond Hill community gathered Monday night to honor the life of political activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was shot and killed last week at a rally on a college campus in Utah.

Families gathered at JF Gregory Park for a prayer at the park and a candlelight vigil in memory of Kirk.

Flags were waving, tears were shed and candles were lit out of respect for Kirk.

“We’re just grieving,” said Paul Schweitzer. “The sadness and all the murders and just the vision in America, we’re just praying to God and coming together for unity. Hopefully we all can solve our problems and our issues. This is here for unity and prayer and love to support each other.”

A community prayer for Kirk is also scheduled for the evening of Sunday September 21, 2025 in Springfield, Georgi
