A man who was killed in a Central City stabbing over the weekend was identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office Wednesday as 44-year-old Jerome Carter.

Carter and another man were found wounded in the 2100 block of South Liberty Street shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday, according to the New Orleans Police Department. They were both transported to a local hospital, where Carter later died.

Police had not made an arrest in the case as of Wednesday morning.
